Albany,NY Criminal Lawyers

While we practice primarily in Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties, we are willing and able to represent clients from other counties in select cases.

We have been helping many people with criminal issues.  Here are some recent results (the full names of the clients are shortened to initials to protect their identities):

People v. E.K.

Our client was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor carrying a maximum penalty of one year in jail.  The client was a successful professional with a great deal to lose.  Attorney John R. McFadden handled the case and he moved to dismiss the charges on "speedy trial" grounds.  The case was dismissed.

People v. B.H.

Our client was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.  The client professed his innocence from the start of the case until the end and we refused to take a plea deal.  The case proceeded to trial and we moved to dismiss the case for lack of evidence.  The Court granted our motion and the charge with dismissed.

People v. J.G.

Our client was charged with Aggravated Harassment, a misdemeanor that would have left the client with a permanent criminal record.  Attorney John R. McFadden handled the case and moved to dismiss the charge on the basis that the criminal complaint was deficient.  The Court agreed and dismissed the charge.

People v. M.M.

Our client was arrested as part of an on-going investigation by the New York State Attorney General's Office, which relied upon wiretap evidence extensively. More than fifty defendants were arrested in total, including our client.  Our client was charged with four "B" felonies and  was therefore facing more than twenty years in State Prison.  Attorney John R. McFadden was able to convince the District Attorney's Office and the Court that prison was not the answer for our client and the client ultimately received probation with no jail time. This is despite the fact that many of the other defendants received long state prison sentences.

These are just a few examples of the many people we have helped.  If you call us at 518-389-2900, we can help you too!
